Film Masters
is a boutique home video label and film restoration company founded in June 2023 by industry veteran and archivist Phil Hopkins. Operating as a consortium of film historians, the company is dedicated to the preservation and "red-carpet" treatment of classic and independent films that have often been neglected or relegated to public domain bargain bins.

Mission and Methodology
The company focuses on reviving "lost and orphaned" films by locating original film elements—sometimes the original camera negatives—and performing high-quality 2K and 4K scans. Their philosophy balances modern watchability with historical authenticity, aiming to "preserve defects" inherent in the original production while "removing damage" caused by decades of improper storage.

1. The Sin of Nora Moran (Blu-ray)

A "poverty row" pre-Code melodrama follows a circus performer on death row who protects a powerful politician by refusing to reveal she is innocent of murder. Its importance lies in its avant-garde structure, utilizing complex "flashbacks within flashbacks" that predate similar techniques in Citizen Kane.

Since the protagonist is put to death for a crime she did not commit, some see the film as an argument against capital punishment.

2. The Second Woman | Newly Restored Archive Collection (Blu-ray)

This psychological thriller stars Robert Young as an architect convinced he is cursed by "bad luck"—including the death of his fiancée—until a neighbor (Betsy Drake) investigates a possible criminal conspiracy. It is significant for blending Gothic "Rebecca-style" mystery with a post-war fascination for psychoanalysis

3. Kansas City Confidential | Newly Restored Archive Collection (Blu-ray)

An ex-con is framed for a bank heist by a mastermind who forced his masked crew to remain strangers to one another; he eventually tracks them to Mexico for revenge. The film is legendary for its uncompromising brutalityand served as a primary inspiration for Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.

Though produced under the Hays Code censorship regulations, Kansas City Confidential constituted one of the most brutal and violent crime pictures made up through that time.

4. The Red House | Newly Restored Archive Collection (Blu-ray)

In this psychological horror/noir, a farmer (Edward G. Robinson) hides a dark secret within a forbidden abandoned house in the woods. It is historically important for its disturbing psychological undertonesand a surreal, anxiety-tinged score by Miklós Rózsa.

The Red House plays like a melodrama by day, and a horror film by night. It does an excellent job of teasing the possibility of the supernatural...

5. Redneck Miller Newly Restored (Blu-ray)

A regional "hicksploitation" film centers on a country-music DJ who must clear his name after his motorcycle is used in a drug deal. Its importance is rooted in its status as a cult regional artifact that represents the 1970s drive-in "greasy" cinema era, later championed and revived by Quentin Tarantino.

Redneck Miller championed by Quentin Tarantino, is a caper about a country-music DJ unwillingly lured into action against a drug gang.

6. Lady of Burlesque Newly Restored Limited Edition Release (Blu-ray)

Based on the novel The G-String Murders by Gypsy Rose Lee, this "backstage whodunit" stars Barbara Stanwyck as a stripper solving a series of murders at a burlesque theater. It is significant for its authentic depiction of burlesque life and its successful defiance of censors regarding the "indecent" murder weapon.

One-of-a-kind because of Miss Lee's authenticity... faithfully reproduced on screen with swift pace and intelligence.
