Bonnie Scotland – Blu-ray

It says Scotland on the tin, and the best gags for the boys are indeed in Scotland, but the second half of the picture takes place in Bonnie India (because of some uninteresting B-plot with incidental characters). The picture is relatively uneven compared to their best features but there are still some delightful gag sequences and a charming whimsy to their comraderie that is quite nice. The extras are fine, and the Blu-ray looks and sounds superb.

I couldn’t be happier that Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy have become part of the various performers to appear in WarnerArchive releases on Blu-ray! How nice to finally have this looking as good as it can possibly look and sound! I highly recommend this to any fan of Stan and Ollie‘s classic films. I only wished that more of the classic Laurel and Hardy short films could be released in their own collection, but maybe someday such a project can be worked out. Those classic titles certainly belong here, being released by people who care about quality.

It’s Laurel and Hardy - enough said. You’re always guaranteed a great time and a good laugh when these two hit the screen. Absolutely one of the greatest comedy duos of all time. Picture and sound quality on the Blu-ray is excellent. Highly recommended. !
