    MGM's Fun Mix of Song Dance Comedy

    A 1937 conglomeration of musical acts, vaudeville plus a thread of a fun story line. Robert Taylor takes the story in his stride with Eleanor Powell MGM's queen of tap dancing...George Murphy, and a star turn by the young Judy Garland pre Oz. The earlier Broadway Melody of 1935/6 was better - hopefully it is coming. Another great upgraded quality image for a major M-G-M classic from Warner Archive who own all of the great MGM movies until their "demise" in the 1970's.

    Fun musical looking better than ever

    Although today it's remembered mainly for Judy Garland's star-making rendition of "Dear Mr. Gable, You Made Me Love You," Broadway Melody of 1938 is a fun musical with a lot of charm. The film has never looked better in this sparkling remaster. Eleanor Powell and George Murphy's dance in the rain, "Feelin' Like a Million," is a highlight.
