    Humoresque is Amazing

    This is a fantastic movie about music and love and obsession and class struggles. It's Garfield's movie...until Crawford shows up. Garfield brings a realistic sensitivity to his role. And Crawford takes the primarily secondary role and dominates. She brings incredible emotional honestly to an underwritten role. Every line reading and every closeup is flawless. Crawford really brings us in to her Helen. She won the Oscar during production and it shows. To go from hard working waitesss Mildred Pierce to haughty upper class dipsomaniac Helen Wright--it's hard to believe it's the same woman only a year apart. And the ending! Only Crawford with her silent film training could have pulled that off. BRAVO!
