    Not one of John Ford’s masterpieces, but you can’t argue with Warner Archive getting all these films out on HD for the first week time.

    Mogambo

    This remake of Red Dust suffers when compared to the original. Clark Gable and Ava Gardner don’t have the sizzler that he had with Jean Harlow in the original. Without that, Clark Gable comes as a despicable old man. See the original.

    Mighty Mogambo

    Ther ads ran the mighty adjective which sums it up. A brilliant transfer - throw your 20 year old DVD out. Colors are now strong and the old faded print is a thing of the past. John Ford master film maker guides the 3 mega stars at the best of their form (Grace was just beginning...) and the animals perform on cue. A great adventure romance in the big M-G-M tradiiton - understandaly a massive box office hit.

    John Ford shoots Africa

    Great Ford movie with great scenery and superb cast. Africa is beautiful and so is Ava Garner. The Warner Archive Blu ray looks great also and everything is sharp and crystal clear.
