Once in a New Moon

A dead star approaches Earth. As it passes by, gravitational pull breaks off a small chunk of the Earth and hurls it into space, where it becomes a new quasi-moon. There's a little coastal town on that chunk, and the villagers try to figure out what's going on, and set out to organize and manage their new little world. Unfortunately they run into the same problems that have plagued mankind for centuries; namely, the division of the classes and the quest for power.
