Harry Carey first appeared in pictures with the Biograph Company under the direction of D. W. Griffith in 1909, and went on to stardom over 200 silent westerns. In 1931, the aging Carey revived his career by playing the lead in MGM's African adventure Trader Horn, following up with a string of serials- The Vanishing Legion (1931), The Last of the Mohicans (1932) and The Devil Horse (1932). After a long career collaborating with directors such as Howard Hawks and John Ford, Carey died in 1947.
