Great Transfer for a Terrific Film

Nobody does technicolor transfers like Warner Archive. This is just gorgeous to look at. The movie is great too, a favorite of mine. It is a great example of two-fisted filmmaking that also manages to touch on important social issues. As is often the case with WA releases, I would have liked some more extras, but the movie itself is well-worth the purchase.

Have a Good day watching a Bad Day

This film is fantastic. Directed by the legendary John Sturges. Mr Sturges is responsible for some of the best westerns ever made, The Magnificent Seven and Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, as well as some of the best war films ever made like The Great Escape and The Eagle Has Landed. Just one of these films alone on a directors resume would be a tremendous feat of awesomeness. But all four of them. Dude. Well done.

This firmly sits as one of my favourite noir westerns?? Absolutely loved this and you should have it in your collection today. Go on, put it in the cart.

Deserves all the praise it gets

It's really a spectacular movie of and for its time. A post-WWII Western, about injustices done to Japanese Americans in California and the conspiracy to deny their humanity, and white man's guilt? Sign me up! And it's a beautiful scan too.

    Spencer Tracy is great

Western noir is a criminally underrated subgenre and this may be it's defining movie, great atmosphere, great themes, the audio commentary is invaluable.

    An Underrated Film Noir

The atmosphere in this film is incredible and so is the beautiful Technicolor. Spencer Tracy and the rest of the cast all give great performances.
