Suave, dapper sleuth, "Bulldog" Drummond, is played by handsome leading man John Lodge for this Republic Picture. Lodge joined a line-up of other notable character actors of the era, including Ray Milland, Ralph Richardson and Ronald Colman, who also took on the role in early film adaptations. It was John Howard, however, who is generally credited with bringing the character into the spotlight in the late thirties with a successful series of Drummond movies. English-born director, Norman Lee, was adept at brisk-paced mysteries and dramas. His credits include Chamber Of Horrors (1940), Murder In The Night and Wanted By Scotland Yard (1939).
