In the tradition of "Dragnet," this riveting crime series presents true tales of robbery and murder based on actual case files of the Los Angeles County Sheriff. Richard Travis stars as Sheriff Barrett, leading us through each tension-filled half-hour as he and his officers scour the City of Angels for any and all lawbreakers. Joining him at the end of each episode is real-life L.A. sheriff Eugene W. Bissculuce, whose department worked closely with the producers to ensure the accuracy of the show's portrayal of police procedures.

The Rookie Sheriff: Peter Van Eyck guest stars as a brilliant but overzealous rookie whose pursuit of "mental and physical superiority" drives a wedge between him and other students at the police academy.
