Look out, Jake Luva. That sinuous moll cuddling up to you on the dance floor isn't the floozy she seems. She's Bonnie Jordan, es-society girl and undercover reporter, investigating a murder that has your fingerprints all over it. She has what it takes, all right - to take you and your crime empire down. As Bonnie and Jake, Joan Crawford and Clark Gable exude plenty of pre-code sensuality in their first screen teaming. Gable is fifth-billed, but the moment he and Crawford go into a clinch, there is no question who in the film could match her star power. Crawford and Gable went on to make seven more films together. And each smoldered with the red-hot chemistry originally sparked in Dance, Fools, Dance.

    Early Crawford

One of the best pairings of Gable and Crawford. Amazing video quality.

It's a delighted movie from the golden Hollywood what I more and more enjoying. Most of this era films are little treasures.Crawford and Gable great.Highly recommend! It's only 81 mins which is good thing today( so many to watch). It's a good extra on a disc called Hollywood: The dream factory well worth your time.

    Solid Pre-Code

Early pre-code starring Joan Crawford as a rich girl whose fortune squanders after her father's death. After losing everything, Joan takes a job as a reporter while her brother becomes involved with bootlegging. Never seen this movie before and it was fun seeing Crawford in one of her early roles. It was even more interesting seeing Clark Gable (without his trademark mustache) in one of his earlier MGM roles who has a supporting role as the bootlegger Crawford's brother works for. The plot is on the simple side, but this pre-code is definitely worth checking out.

Warner Archive did a great job on this release, also enjoyed the extras including the 1970s documentary Hollywood: The Dream Factory narrated by Dick Cavett about MGM.

    Pre-Code Crawford

It's not the best pre-Code Joan Crawford movie, but any pre-Code Crawford movie is worthy of a release like this.
