Hong Kong: A Family Portrait

The British Crown Colony of Hong Kong is living on borrowed time. In 1997, about nine-tenths of this bustling, capitalistic city will be returned to the People's Republic of China. National Geographic travels to this cosmopolitan port for an intimate visit with a boat family that has made its home on the Hong Kong waters for more than 100 years. Like many Hong Kong families, they are suspended between the modern world and ancient Chinese customs - in a city precariously located at the edge of a Communist giant.
