Honky Tonk (Blu-ray)

A silver-tongued conman rides into a bustling frontier town, where he meets a beautiful woman who eventually leads him to question his dubious ways in this splendid western, made in the grand old MGM style. It's the perfect vehicle for Clark Gable, who brings all his easygoing presence and charisma - not to mention his devilish charm - to the central role. He and the lovely Lana Turner have good chemistry and Gable is always fun in 'battle of the sexes' mode. Perhaps not an essential western, but a most enjoyable one all the same, and another terrific-looking Blu-ray from Warner Archive.
