KUROZUKA is a popular anime series based on the Japanese manga written by Baku Yumemakura and illustrated by Takashi Noguchi. Beginning in 12th century Japan and finding its way to futuristic, post-apocalyptic Japan, the story follows Kuro, a swordsman who falls in love with Kuromitsu, an immortal vampire. About to turn immortal himself, Kuro is betrayed by his servant, Benkei, a secret member of the Red Imperial Army, leaving him unconscious until he awakens in the future, finding a ravaged, post-nuclear Japan under control of the Red Army.
