Northwest of Chicago: From Farm Fields to Boomtowns

In the style of his hit programs "Chicago's North Shore" and "South of Chicago: Suburbs, Steel Mills, Shoreline," Geoffrey Baer takes you on a journey through the Northwest suburbs. The tour begins in the Park Ridge and follows I 90 andthe historic Northwest Highway through communities such as Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect, Elk Grove Village, Rolling Meadows, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, and Crystal Lake, concluding in far northwest suburban Woodstock. We also take a side trip along the route of a long forgotten steam railroad from Palatine through Lake Zurich to Wauconda.
