Seven Women (Blu-ray)

Finally given a proper home video release after looking like garbage in pan and scan forever. Ford’s final feature film is fascinating and marred by some yellow face but features some of the best roles for women in his entire career. It’s wildly uneven but the best parts have all the aspects of the best Ford films, and despite some drawbacks it’s not a picture of his to be overlooked, and is definitely worth checking out!

The legendary John Ford's final film is quite different to anything the great man made before, but is perhaps all the more fascinating for it, featuring a largely female cast and a more reflective approach. It's a shame we couldn't get the longer version, but nonetheless, the new restoration is incredible.
