The Days of Dylan Thomas

This restored short film on the life and death of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas is built from still photographs and, in part, Thomas's own recorded voice. Featuring the photography of Rollie McKenna, with contributions from American and British photographers, the film weaves selections of Thomas's work spoken by the poet himself with lean narration, a discreet and distinguished music score, and images of deceptive calm. The result is a moving, low-key yet unforgettable cinematic portrait honoring Thomas with dignity and affection.
