The Legend of Sea Wolf

Chuck Connors is Wolf Larson, a sadistic sea captain who forcefully rules his crew in this epic tale of a seal hunting ship. Larson will do anything, including shanghaiing crewmen, to continue his voyage and elude his brother, a rival seal hunter known as Death Larson. When a renowned writer named Humphrey Van Weyden becomes the latest dupe to be tricked into signing on to Larson's ship, he leads his crewmates in a revolt against the tyrannical captain. Intense drama ensues as the crew fights both Larson and the elements.

The Legend of Sea Wolf is an intense, at times harrowing, Italian adaptation of the classic 1904 novel by Jack London, much darker in tone than the 1941 Hollywood production directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Edward G. Robinson. Towering actor Chuck Connors gives one of his career-best performances as the savage Wolf Larson, in the years after his legendary TV starring role on The Rifleman (1958-1963). The beautiful Barbara Bach was a Bond girl in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), and is the wife of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.
