The Lone Rider in Cheyenne is the eighth film in PRC's Lone Rider series. Beginning with The Lone Rider Rides Again in 1941, PRC produced 11 Lone Rider features starring baritone-voiced George Houston as the titular hero and Al St. John as his sidekick Fuzzy. Starting with the sixth entry, the studio brought in handsome Dennis Moore as the Rider's partner, rounding out the trio. Houston was replaced for the final six films by Bob Livingston. The Lone Rider in Cheyenne also features a memorable bad guy role for Roy Barcroft. The following year, Barcroft would sign an exclusive contract with Republic, where he would achieve immortal status as the studio's chief villain.
