The Test of Donald Norton (Silent)

Despite a decade of great success at The Hudson Bay trading post, and a reputation for integrity, Donald Norton is passed over for promotion by his boss, John Corrigal, because the old man refuses to trust a half-breed Indian. The coveted position is awarded to shady Dale Millington who is courting Lorraine Layard, the woman Donald is in love with. Donald can never express his feelings for Lorraine, because a marriage between a white woman and half-breed is strictly forbidden. He quits his job and is immediately hired to manage a competing fur company.
