Steel separates 1873 Pittsburgh into rich and poor, master and worker, powerful and powerless. On one side is Paul Scott, the progressive son of a steel mill owner. On the other is Mary Rafferty, daughter of an embittered laborer who was crippled in a mill accident. When Mary takes a post as a housemaid at the Scott mansion, she and Paul fall desperately in love. But a bloody strike may tear the city -- and the lovers apart.

My DECISION to blind buy this Blu ray was a great one!

    Film: 4.5/5

THE VALLEY OF DECISION is a rather epic film of its era that I had not seen or even heard of prior to this Warner Archive Blu ray release. Brilliantly cast, I was completely and totally invested in the story and characters the entire time. I really hated to see it end! Thankful to the Warner Archive team for bringing it to my attention and I highly recommend it to others unfamiliar with it. It's a very safe "blind buy"!

    Peck and Garson!

A richly mounted drama combining romance, family conflict, and old Hollywood prestige filmmaking. Great performances from Peck and Garson!

Greer Garson & Gregory Peck - Beautiful Movie

Greer Garson is one of my favourite actresses. The previously released DVD of this movie was good but not great from a visual standpoint. Warner Archive's bluray release is excellent. The movie looks and sounds excellent. Definitely worth upgrading from the previously released DVD. This is classic MGM melodrama at its best.

Greer Garson and Gregory Peck Thrive in an Absorbing "Valley"

1945 MGM drama (based on Marcia Davenport's 1942 novel) allows plum assignments for Oscar-nominated Greer Garson and Gregory Peck, at the beginning of his incredible 1945-1950 run of major critical and commercial movie hits. Costarring Donald Crisp, Lionel Barrymore, Marsha Hunt, Preston Foster and Gladys Cooper. Warner Archive Blu-ray offers a pristine print of the b/w movie.
